Pole sa slaninom i sirom / Potato Halves with Bacon and Cheese

Šarene platnene patike i haljinice čekaju u ormaru, dok sam ja u dubljim cipelama i kišnoj kabanici u vesele crvene boje da razbijem ovo sivilo.

Sira nikad dosta.

Pole sa slaninom i sirom

(za dvije osobe)

3 srednja krumpira
domaća slanina
polutvrdi sir
sol, papar
Zagrijte pećnicu na 200° C.

Krumpir dobro operite.

Dobar tek,

I hope the weather at your place is nice, or that it's at least not raining, so you'll ask yourselves why am I posting this recipe from the fall/winter collection in May.

Rain has been tireless with us, and this spring looks more like fall. Colorful sneakers and dresses are packed in the closet while I'm wearing booties and a cheerful red raincoat in order to scare away this mundane grayness.

No sitting on cafe terraces, no colorful ice-cream or bike riding. Or not for too long.
Tea with lemon and honey (next to antibiotics) and a blanket, and if you want to go out you have to take an umbrella with you.

Instead of colorful vegetables our plates carry more 'sustainable' food: mushroom risotto, croquettes or potato halves with bacon and cheese.
Honestly, this isn't a real recipe, but that doesn't mean I didn't check it out online to see how it's prepared. But, in the end, I went with the joker – call mom. There are variables in which you first cook the potato, but we were impatient, so we skipped that step.

Why cheese, you may wonder?

Because you can never have enough cheese.

Potato Halves with Bacon and Cheese
(serves two)

3 mid-sized potatoes
home bacon
cheese
salt, pepper
Preheat the oven to 200°C.

Was the potatoes well.
Cut them in half, lay them onto a baking tray and season them.
Don't overdo with salt because of bacon.

Bake for around 30 minutes. The baking time depends, of course, on the size of the potatoes.
Pluck the potatoes with a toothpick or a fork. If it goes though easily or the potatoes 'break', that means they're done.

In the meantime cut the bacon into smaller pieces so you get soft potatoes and crispy bacon.
Also cut the cheese and put it atop the potato halves.

Serve warm with a spicy sausage and sour cream and herb dip.
