Rezenzija - Vege Lege

U maloj ulici kraj glavne osječke tržnice nalazi se znak i ploča s dnevnom/tjednom ponudom Vege Lege - prvog osječkog vegetarijanskog i veganskog snack bara
Velika terasa, a unutra vedar prostor, u kojem nas je dočekala simpatična djelatnica po imenu Ines, punom finih mirisa i telefona koji zvoni s narudžbama 'za van'.

Jelovnik smo brzo proučili. Dragi se odlučio za dnevnu ponudu - povrtne popečke u umaku od kopra i limunadu, a ja za Legalafel koji me s imenom osvojio na prvu te sok od grejpa. Sezonsku salatu smo podjelili. 

Nisam se dugo nećkala, jer redovito pratim Vege Lege na njihovom Facebook profilu i jako mi se sviđa njihova sistematičnost tjednih ponuda.

Dok čekamo svoju narudžbu, bez juhe od Hokkaido bundeve jer se razgrabila, istražujemo sitne slatke detalje kojima je ovaj simpatični prostor uređen. 
Drveni barski stolovi i stolice, vedra zelena boja, šarene razglednice i humoristične slike krase zidove.

Skuter dolazi i odlazi s dostavom, a mi uživamo u odabranom ručku na licu mjesta. 

Legalafel
Povrtni popečci jako su ukusni, no umak od kopra ih diže na skroz drugu razinu. 
Legalafel je svjež i hranjiv, no nimalo težak. Svježa lepinja, sezonsko povrće i falafel osvojili su me ne samo imenom, nego i okusom.
 Sezonska salata je ukusna i vidno svježa, te je u ovom slučaju zasitila dvije osobe.

Osvježenje i točka na 'i' bili su svježe iscijeđeni voćni sokovi - limun i grejp, u koje smo saznali ne dodaju ništa, pa ni kap vode (osim u limunadu). 

 Ovo je bio prvi, no nikako ne i zadnji put da smo ugodno ručali u ovom prostoru.

Dostupnost informacija, slasne fotografije, raznovrsna ponuda po pristupačnim cijenama i svježi sastojci dobitna su kombinacija. 
Zahvaljujemo se Vege Lege na ugodnom i ukusnom ručku te im želimo puno uspjeha i zadovoljnih gostiju.

Kako ste došli na ideju otvaranja prvog vegetarijanskog i veganskog snack bara?

Još kao mala pravila sam super-kolačiće od blata začinjene cvjetićima i svježim travkama, i sve su moje fotografije iz djetinjstva prepune lega-lončića, legica-kuhača i mene. Onda sam malo narasla pa magistrirala hrvatski. Budući da sam, naravno, pronašla posao u struci, odlučila sam, zajedno sa svojom vege-obitelji, otvoriti maleni snack bar u kojemu ću moći zaraziti ljude osmijehom, pozitivnom energijom i dobrom hranom. Tako je nastao Vege Lege snack bar. :) Zasad, kaže Fejs, imamo 5338 zaraženih. Bojim se da je riječ o epidemiji. :)

Proslavili ste već drugi rođendan. Kako se osjećate i kako ste ga proslavili?

Dana 19. svibnja proslavili smo drugi rođendan. Naši zaposlenici, svi oni koji su do sada sudjelovali u Vege Lege avanturi, a i oni koji su se zadržali do danas, imaju velika srca i tople osmijehe, uvijek su za slavlje pa nije bila potrebna dodatna motivacija. :) Uz balončiće, kapice i pjesmu, veselili smo se od ranog jutra. Svaki je gost dobio i čoko-bombu od orašastog voća, brusnica, soka višnje i kakaa, neki su nam pjevali rođendanske pjesmice i dobili smo i mi poklončiće. Sve je to dokaz da smo, prije svega, svi lege u Vege Lege. Sretni smo. :)
Kakva je reakcija ljudi? Kako ste zadovoljni posjećenošću? Što biste rekli, koliki je postotak ljudi koji su stalne mušterije?

Ljudi nenametljivo i lijepo vole Vege Lege. Naravno, bude onih koji su skeptični, provire u snack bar, odmjere nas od glave do pete i sumnjičavo pitaju hoce li se najesti "od toga". Samo se nasmiješimo i odgovorimo da nismo ovako punašni, jedri i vedri od loše klope. :) Zanimljivo je to da hranimo puno vegana i vegetarijanaca, ali još više svejeda. :) Stalnih gostiju imamo od početka do danas. Već znamo kada će tko otprilike doći i sve ih očekujemo s nestrpljenjem. Srećom, svaki nam dan donese nekoliko novih lega i legica koji će ubrzo postati stalni gosti. Nekim se ljudima možda i dogodilo da nisu bili nikada u Vege Lege, ali nikom se nije dogodilo da je bio jedanput. :)

 Odakle nabavljate namirnice? Što sve sami radite?


Sve naše glavne namirnice potječu iz visoko kontroliranog ekološkog uzgoja, a za to posjedujemo i certifikate koje gosti nerijetko žele vidjeti kako bi se i sami uvjerili u kvalitetu hrane koju pripremamo. Primjerice, namirnice potrebne za našu Vege pljeskavicu i kobasicu uzgajaju se po principu miroljubive zemljoradnje u Njemačkoj, a ondje se čak ne sluze ni stajnjakom jer je svaki stajnjak prepun antiobiotika kojima se truju životinje. Osim kobasice i smjese za pljeskavicu, sve ostalo pravimo sami, pa čak i umake (osim senfa i kečapa) i sve je vegansko, osim sira u Cheese legi. Za umake koristimo, primjerice, Alpro sojino mlijeko, cijeđeni limun, sjemenke suncokreta iz eko uzgoja itd. Uvijek smo otvoreni za sva pitanja i volimo kad ljudi vole znati. :)
 
Tko smišlja jelovnik? Koje biste začine izdvojili?

Jela i nazive za njih smislila je ta neka nezaposlena kroatistica Dunja Paulik. Koristimo dosta začina, volim curry madras, kurkumu, kim, piment, muškatni oraščić. I mljeveni chilli. Stvarno volim chilli. Naši gosti to, khm, khm, jako dobro znaju. :D

Upoznajte nas malo s osobama zaslužnima za ukusne obroke. Tko je sve u Vašem timu?

Prije svega, moram nadimkovati, pozdraviti ih i zaželiti mirno vege more svima onima koji su nekada činili naš tim, a to su Auks, majstor vege obroka, kreativac i duša od čovjeka; Eddie, čovjek-kosa, volio je pauze iliti stanke koliko i ja; Vedrana, samo ime kaze; Lidija, vesela crvenperka; Špoljo - prvak dostave; Lada - dobar kao čokolada; Nino - diplomirani ekonomist sa stilom; i naravno, Ina - neindustrija nafte, zna karate, nju sam prvu učila sve, a onda je ona učila sve ostale dok sam stažirala u Elektrotehničkoj i prometnoj školi Osijek. I EMŠU pozdravljam, doći cu po potvrdu čim uhvatim vremena, radim 0-24. :) 
Sada nas je u VL četvero: Ines, Vlado, Josipa i ja. Odlican smo tim jer svaki tjedan provodimo team building; kako to izgleda - neka ostane tajna! Radi se puno, ali uz pjesmu i ples. :) Naravno, pjevušimo sami jer, još uvijek, ne smijemo reproducirati glazbu unutar snack bara. I to ćemo uskoro ispraviti, obećavamo. :)
 
Kakvi su Vam planovi za budućnost?

Ideja je pregršt, a ograničenja bezbroj. Međutim, nećemo stati samo u Osijeku, toliko je pozitivne energije da je moramo poslati u svijet. :)

  Koja je Vaša preporuka s jelovnika? Što nikako ne bismo smjeli propustiti?


 Cheese lega naš je najprodavaniji artikl, tu su i Superlega, Legalafel, Lega juhe, naš čobanac, grah s pikantnom kobasicom, sarma, tjestenine s umakom od medvjeđeg luka, pestom od brokule, vege bolognese... Što god probali, ne možete pogriješiti. :)

In a small street near Osijek's main market there are a sign and a board with the daily/weeky menus of Vege Lege – the first vegetarian and vegan snack bar in Osijek.


A big terrace, and on the inside a bright space, in which we were welcomed by a cheerful employee named Ines, is filled with nice smells and the sound of a ringing phone for deliveries.

We quickly studied the menu. My darling went with the daily offer – garden fritters in dill sauce with lemonade, and I went with  Legalafel
('lega' = friend) which thrilled me with its name, and grapefruit juice. We shared the season salad.

It didn't take a lot of time to go for this option, because I follow Vege Lege on their  Facebook profile and I love the way their weekly menus are systematized.

While we were waiting for our order, without Hokkaido Soup because it was already gone, we explored the tiny, cute details which make this adorable space.

Wooden bar tables and stools, a bright green color, colorful postcards and funny pictures decorate the walls.

The motor scooter comes and goes with deliveries, and we're enjoying our lunch on site.

The Garden fritters are very tasty, but the dill sauce brings them to a whole new level.


Legalafel is fresh and fulfilling, but it's not heavy on the stomach. The fresh bagel, seasonal vegetables and the falafel have won my heart, not just with the name, but with the taste too.

The Season Salad is tasty and very fresh, and in this case it made two people full.

The refreshments and the icing on the cake were the freshly squeezed fruit juices – lemon and grapefruit, for which we found out that they add nothing in them, not even a drop of water (except from the lemonade).

This was the first, but definitely not the last time we had a pleasant meal here.

The information availability, the juicy pictures, variable affordable menus and fresh ingredients are a winning combination.
We thank Vege Lege for the pleasant and tasty lunch, and we wish them a lot of success and happy customers.

How did you come up with the idea of opening up the first vegetarian and vegan snack bar?


As I child I used to make super mud cakes seasoned with flowers and fresh grass, and all the photographs from my childhood are full of lega-pots, lega-ladles and me. Then I grew up a bit and I majored in Croatian. Since, of course, I found a job for the place I studied for, I decided, together with my vege-family, to open up a small snack bar in which I will be able to contaminate people with smiles, positive energy and good food. That's how Vege Lege snack bar came to be. :) For now, Facebook says we have contaminated 5338 people. I'm afraid we're dealing with an epidemic. :)



You've celebrated your second birthday. How do you feel and how did the celebration go down?


On May 19th we celebrated our second birthday. Our employees, all of those who have so far been a part of the Vege Lege adventure, and also those who have stayed with us up until now, have great hearts and warm smiles, and they're always up for celebration so no additional motivation was needed. :) With balloons, hats and song we merried around until early morning. Each guest received a choco-bomb from nuts, cranberries, cherry juice and cocoa, some sang birthday songs to us and we also got little presents. It all proves that we're first and foremost, all friends ('lege') in Vege Lege. We're happy. :)

 How did people react to you? How are you satisfied with the visiting rate? What would you say, how much of your customers are comebacks?

People love Vege Lege in a very nice fashion. Of course, there are those who are skeptical, who peek through into the snack bar, give us a look from head to toe and very suspiciously ask if they'll get full 'from that'. We just smile and reply that we're not so nicely rounded, cheerful and full of energy from bad food. :) It's interesting that we feed a lot of vegans and vegetarians, but even more omnivores. :) Returning customers have been a thing since the start up until now. We already know when someone is going to show up and we're very excited to see them. Luckily, each day we get a couple of new friends who will soon become permanent members. For some people it may have happened that they've never been to Vege Lege, but no one's been only once. :)
 
Where do you get your ingredients from? What do you make on your own?

All our main ingredients come from a highly controlled eco farming, and we also have certificates which our guests often want to see so they would see for themselves the quality of the food we prepare is genuine. For instance, the ingredients needed for our Vege Burger and Sausage are all grown based on the principle of non-invasive farming in Germany. They don't even use animal farm manure which is full of antibiotics the animals are being poisoned with. Except for the sausage and the mix for the hamburger, we make everything else on our own, even sauces (except for mustard and ketchup), and everything is vegan-friendly, except for the cheese in Cheese Lega. For sauces, for instance, we use Alpro Soy Milk, squeezed lemon, sunflower seeds from eco-farming etc. We're always open for any questions and we like when people are inquisitive. :)
 

Who comes up with the menu? Which spices would you like to single out?


The dishes and the names were made up by some unemployed major of Croatian, Dunja Paulik. We use a lot of spices, I like curry madras, turmeric, cumin, piment, nutmeg. And ground chili. I really love chili. Our customers, khm-khm, know that very well. :D


Introduce us to the people who are behind the tasty meals. Who makes up your team?
 
First of all, I have to nickname and wish a calm vege-sea to all of those who once made our team, and those are Auks, the master of vege-meals, the creative head and a soul of a man; Eddie, man-hair, he loved breaks as much as I did; Vedrana (Merry), her name says it all; Lidija, the cheerful redstart; Spoljo – the champion of deliveries; Lada – he frowns nada; Nino – an Economy major with style; and, of course, Ina – the non-oil industry, knows karate, she was the first one I taught everything and then she taught others while I was doing my school practice in High School of Electrical Engeneering and Traffic Osijek. I'm saying hello to them too, I'll pick up my certificate as soon as I catch some time; I'm working non-stop. :)
Now there's four of us in Vege Lege: Ines, Vlado, Josipa and myself. We're a great team because each week we do some team building; the way it looks should remain a secret! We work a lot, but with song and dance. :) Of course, we hum on our own because we're still not allowed to reproduce music inside the snack bar. We'll fix that soon, we promise! :)


What are your plans for the future?
 
There are tons of ideas and even more limitations. However, we're not stopping just in Osijek; there's so much positive energy that we simply have to send it out into the world. :)


What's your recommendation from the menu? What's something no one should miss?
 


Cheese Lega is our bestseller, and we also have Superlega, Legalafel, Lega Soups, our stew, beans with spicy sausage, sarma, pasta with wild garlic sauce, broccoli pesto, Vege Bolognese... Whatever you try, you can't go wrong. :)
